Indonesia and Russia Discuss Ratification of I-EAEU FTA

The governments of Indonesia and Russia engaged in discussions concerning the advancement of the ratification and execution of the Indonesia–Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement (I-EAEU FTA).
The dialogue occurred during the 14th session of the Indonesia–Russia Joint Commission Meeting (SKB) convened in Kazan, Russia.

The Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs of Indonesia, Airlangga Hartarto, engaged in a meeting with the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Denis Manturov.
The purpose of their discussion was to evaluate the progress of the trade agreement, which was signed on December 21, 2025. This agreement is presently in the process of being ratified within each respective country.
He regarded the meeting as a testament to the unwavering dedication of both nations to enhancing concrete, pragmatic, and mutually advantageous economic collaboration. During this time, Denis Manturov underscored Russia's dedication to persistently enhancing bilateral economic ties with Indonesia by reinforcing collaboration across multiple strategic sectors.

Throughout the meeting, representatives from the two nations engaged in discourse on a range of crucial topics, such as agricultural advancements, energy resources, trade relations, and the establishment of specialized economic zones. The discussions encompassed facilitating the entry of Indonesian agricultural products into the Russian market, examining opportunities for importing meat, and exploring possibilities for collaboration in the distribution of fertilizer products.
In the energy industry, both parties engaged in discussions regarding the continuation of the scheduled oil acquisition, the advancement of oil and gas field development, the status of the Tuban Grass Root Refinery (GRR) initiative, and potential collaborations in the realm of nuclear energy.
In the realm of commerce, Deputy Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri elucidated the government's initiatives to enhance Indonesian export activities directed towards Russia, as well as the advancements concerning the ratification and enactment of the Indonesia-Eurasian Economic Union (I-EAEU) Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
During the meeting, both nations formalized Agreed Minutes aimed at enhancing collaboration across several strategic sectors. The Agreed Minutes are collaborative documents that detail advancements in executing bilateral cooperation, the consensus arrived at in the Joint Decree, and the planned course for continued collaboration across different priority sectors.

The Agreed Minutes encompass the enhancement of collaboration across multiple strategic domains, such as trade and investment, renewable energy, and agriculture and fisheries. They also include industry, transportation and construction, higher education and science, health, tourism, and culture. Further areas covered are digital development and mass media, sports, the exploration and utilization of geological and mineral resources, and the management of urban solid waste.
