LG CNS has become one of the founding members of a global alliance that leverages artificial intelligence (AI) to speed up the identification of new materials, making it the sole Korean IT firm in the initiative.
The company announced a partnership with British AI startup CuspAI, which initiated the collaboration, to assist Korean manufacturers in utilizing AI for creating next-generation materials.

The partnership, known as the AI Materials Foundry, merges AI, data, computing capabilities, and scientific knowledge to speed up the discovery and creation of innovative materials. LG CNS states that its 48 members comprise Nvidia, Meta, AMD, 3M, and Merck, in addition to prominent research organizations.
LG CNS will utilize CuspAI's AI platform to assist companies in sectors like semiconductors, chemicals, and energy in creating materials with targeted characteristics, such as enhanced heat resistance and better carbon capture, while greatly reducing development time. A Finnish chemicals company, Kemira, reduced a materials development project timeline from multiple years to six months thanks to the platform, pinpointing 20 potential candidates for further evaluation.
As CuspAI's delivery partner in Korea, LG CNS will assist manufacturers in utilizing the AI platform without the need for expensive research tools or AI infrastructure. It will offer comprehensive assistance, ranging from data management and analysis to platform operation, allowing customers to perform AI-driven materials research without needing specialized AI experts.
LG CNS stated that customer information will be kept on isolated servers and won't be utilized for training AI models, with intellectual property rights for new materials staying with the clients.

Earlier, LG CNS, the IT services arm of LG Group, unveiled PerfectWin ERP Edition, a specialized software testing solution designed for global enterprise resource planning systems.
The solution automates the testing of SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems — the software tools large businesses utilize to oversee finance, manufacturing, procurement, logistics, and human resources in a cohesive environment. Organizations transitioning from outdated SAP systems to S/4HANA, SAP's latest cloud-based ERP solution, or implementing a new ERP system must ensure the system operates properly prior to going live— a procedure that usually necessitates employees to manually create test cases for each business function, which can span several days.

PerfectWin ERP Edition utilizes agentic AI capable of independently planning and executing multistep tasks to manage that process. The system examines the workflows and real-time operational data of each department to autonomously create test scenarios, eliminating the need for staff to identify which processes should be tested or which cases are most suitable. It subsequently executes the tests, spots irregularities, determines root causes, recommends solutions, and generates documentation, all without human involvement.
