Mwani Qatar, Saudi Ports Authority Enter Strategic Partnership

Mwani Qatar and the Saudi Ports Authority forged a strategic alliance aimed at enhancing collaboration in maritime and logistics operations. This initiative is expected to yield numerous advantages, such as enhanced cooperation in cruise tourism and shared investments in the ports industry.
An agreement was formalized by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the goal of enhancing the ports industry, improving operational effectiveness, and facilitating trade at both regional and global levels.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was executed by Abdulla Mohamed al-Khanji, CEO of Mwani Qatar, and Sulaiman bin Khalid al-Mazroua, head of the Saudi Ports Authority, with the attendance of Bandar bin Mohammed al-Attiyah, Qatar's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, as well as various officials from both parties.
This measure is part of the shared commitment by both entities to establish impactful collaborations, share knowledge, and establish a systematic approach to managing cooperation, sharing experiences, and cultivating mutual investment prospects.
The effort aims to advance the strategic objectives of both parties in alignment with the goals outlined in Qatar National Vision 2030 and Saudi Vision 2030. The memorandum of understanding covers eight primary areas of collaboration, with a particular emphasis on sharing best practices in the management and operation of ports.

It also aims to investigate potential avenues for establishing direct maritime and land connections between the ports of the two nations to improve the efficiency of trade flow. In the realm of digital transformation and artificial intelligence, both parties have come to an agreement to strengthen collaboration in the advancement of intelligent systems, data management, and the integrated maritime single window, with the aim of improving operational efficiency and staying abreast of technological advancements within the maritime industry.
The memo places significant emphasis on ensuring maritime safety and protecting the environment, by facilitating the sharing of knowledge and resources to address issues such as marine pollution and emergency preparedness. It also highlights the importance of creating coordinated maritime emergency plans and establishing direct communication channels between the two nations in case of emergencies.
Furthermore, the document outlines collaboration in achieving compliance with international agreements, conducting joint exercises, and enhancing risk monitoring systems. The collaboration between the two ports extends to enhancing human resources through collaborative training initiatives and sharing of practical skills, as well as academic and research partnerships in the areas of maritime transportation and logistics.

This memorandum signifies the dedication of Mwani Qatar and the Saudi Ports Authority to the advancement of the ports industry and the strengthening of its influence as a vital catalyst for commerce and economic growth.
