Oman Gears Up to Launch New International Financial Center

Oman's International Financial Center is nearing its launch as progress hastens on its legal structure, set of regulations, and registry system.
The Center is dedicated to finalizing the legal structure that will support IFC Oman, offering businesses and investors the clarity, certainty, and confidence needed to set up operations in the Sultanate of Oman.
A set of regulations establishing the basis for business registration and licensing, financial services oversight, and a framework for independent dispute resolution will be launched soon.
Mahmood Al Aweini, the Chair of the IFC Oman Authority Board, says, “IFC Oman is accelerating towards opening its doors, with its legal, regulatory and digital infrastructure moving into place”.
“The Center will offer global businesses and investors a stable and competitive place to do business, harnessing Oman’s enduring connections with countries around the world and its strategic location at the crossroads of continents, to unlock new opportunities for growth and create lasting value for Oman”.
IFC Oman has been increasing its global outreach to connect with potential businesses, investors, and professional service firms worldwide. In September, it gained approval as a member of the World Alliance of International Financial Centers during the organization's annual meeting in Busan.
