imgPrime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has instructed the southern province of Tay Ninh to utilize its strategic position as a hub for international connections, capitalizing on its four border crossings, its function as a regional transit point, and its role in fostering industrial growth.

In a recent meeting with the provincial Party Committee on December 8, which coincided with the opening of the Tan Nam - Meun Chey international border gate, Prime Minister Chinh emphasized the need for continued unity and significant advances to achieve double-digit annual growth in the future.

He highlighted the significance of providing social welfare, assisting vulnerable individuals and families with commendable service, and addressing persistent challenges in the border region to promote peace, collaboration, and friendship.

He mentioned that Tay Ninh needs to develop sustainable methods for growth using science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation to fulfill its role as a key player in the southern economic region and improve the quality of life for its residents.

He directed the province to take decisive and coordinated actions to achieve a 10-10.5 percent GRDP growth in 2026 and maintain that rate in the future. He also instructed the timely implementation of the revised provincial master plan for 2021-2030 (with a vision to 2050), focusing on industrial-urban clusters along the trans-Asia economic corridor.

Additionally, he mandated that the master plan for the Moc Bai Border Gate Economic Zone by 2045 be completed by January 2026 at the latest.

Local governments need to enhance the conditions for businesses, draw in investments, leverage government funds to attract private capital, increase investments going to Cambodia, expand local currency transactions with neighboring countries, and ensure the construction of at least one high-tech park and innovation center by the beginning of next year.

In terms of housing development, the province needs to achieve the national targets set for 2026. Additionally, there should be a focus on enhancing climate resilience, managing resources effectively, and protecting the environment. It is important to prioritize irrigation, flood control, and making the most efficient use of the Dau Tieng reservoir.

The combined Tay Ninh province, resulting from the merger of the previous Tay Ninh and Long An provinces, covers an area of 8,536 square kilometers. It has a population of 3.25 million distributed among 96 commune-level units and shares a 369-kilometer border with Cambodia. It is ranked as the 10th largest province in the country based on economic size.
