Prabowo Meets Emperor Naruhito, Bolstering Indonesia-Japan Ties

President Prabowo Subianto visited Japanese Emperor Naruhito at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo as part of an official trip to engage in discussions pertaining to various strategic matters.
Upon reaching the Imperial Palace complex, President Prabowo was welcomed by Emperor Naruhito as he arrived. Subsequently, the two dignitaries moved on to the Take-no-ma room for a group photograph prior to commencing their deliberations.

Apart from deliberating on official state affairs, the dialogue also encompassed a jovial interchange of anecdotes, illustrating the intimate bond between the President of Indonesia and the Emperor of Japan.
Prabowo engaged in discussions with Emperor Naruhito and separately conferred with the Japanese Crown Prince, Fumihito, who is the Emperor's younger sibling. The meeting served to strengthen the emotional bond and friendship between Indonesia and Japan, elevating it to the status of the imperial family.
After the official meeting, President Prabowo, Emperor Naruhito, and Crown Prince Fumihito partook in a state luncheon at Rensui North within the Imperial Palace complex, renowned for its classical architectural design. The setting was tranquil, with a view of a Japanese garden situated directly in front of the two dignitaries.
President Prabowo conveyed his appreciation for the garden's charm and participated in informal discussions with Emperor Naruhito during the event.
The amiable ambiance underscored the deepening alliance between Indonesia and Japan, with the strong bond between the leaders providing a robust foundation for ongoing cooperation.
President Prabowo was accompanied by his son and a delegation of prominent state officials during the courtesy visit, including dignitaries such as Ragowo Hediprasetyo, Minister of Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Foreign Minister Sugiono, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

Additionally, the Indonesian and Japanese authorities are in discussions regarding a collaborative relationship between national parks in order to enhance the management of conservation areas, with the aim of aligning various parks in Indonesia with Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park to meet global excellence levels. Indonesia's Minister of Forestry, Raja Juli Antoni, held a meeting in Hakone on Sunday with Shichimeko Shuichi, the Director of Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, and Ikuo Yamada from Japan's Ministry of the Environment to discuss a collaborative plan.
Raja indicated that the Ministry of the Environment in Japan expressed approval of the suggestion and suggested organizing a technical workshop for continued discussion on the partnership. The workshop is anticipated to act as an introductory platform for creating a practical and enduring structure.

Antoni entered into a formal agreement with the governor of Japan's Shizuoka Prefecture regarding the protection and conservation of wildlife, specifically centered around a breeding loan program for Komodo dragons. This initiative, along with the establishment of sister parks and the Komodo breeding program, represents a strategic effort to enhance the relationship between Indonesia and Japan during President Prabowo Subianto's official visit.
