Prabowo Meets US Business Leaders Ahead of Trade Deal Signing
President Prabowo Subianto commenced his formal engagements in Washington, D.C., local time with a series of meetings including the US Chamber of Commerce (USCC), the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC), and the US-Indonesia Society (USINDO).
He was accompanied by a delegation comprising various members of the Red and White Cabinet, as well as representatives from the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin).

The gathering, officially known as the "Business Summit in Recognition of His Excellency Prabowo Subianto, President of Indonesia," took place prior to the formal signing of the Agreement on Reciprocal Trade (ART) with President Donald Trump of the US.
This signing ceremony holds great significance on President Prabowo's itinerary while visiting the capital city of Washington, D.C. President Prabowo arrived at the US Chamber of Commerce Building around 4:49 p.m local time.
The meeting, titled "Business Summit in Honor of H. E. Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia," was held ahead of the signing ceremony for the Agreement on Reciprocal Trade (ART) with US President Donald Trump. This ceremony is a key agenda item during President Prabowo's visit to Washington, D.C.
He was joined by a delegation including Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Investment and Downstream Development Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, Danantara's Chief Investment Officer Pandu Sjahrir, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Indonesian Ambassador to the United States Dwisuryo Indroyono Soesilo.
Prominent members of the business community in attendance were Anindya Novyan Bakrie, the Chairman of Kadin, Simon Aloysius Mantiri, the President Director of Pertamina, Tony Wenas, the President Director of PT Freeport Indonesia, and Richard C. Adkerson, the Chairman of Freeport-McMoRan Inc.

"Trade between the two countries is strong, already at $45 billion. The goal is to create more balanced trade. This will provide many opportunities for Indonesian exporters, especially in the footwear, textile, garment, and electronics sectors, as well as for American entrepreneurs in the cotton, wheat, and soybean sectors," he stated.
Anindya Bakrie mentioned prior to the meeting that it would provide an opportunity for businesses from both countries to take advantage of the forthcoming reciprocal agreement to be inked by President Prabowo and President Trump.
Bakrie further stated that Indonesia is evaluating potential investment opportunities, which he views as essential for job creation and sustaining a favorable economic trajectory. Additionally, he observed that the American business delegates who engaged in discussions with Prabowo were all affiliated with Kadin as partners.

"All of them are collaborative partnerships with Kadin. In May 2025, we signed a cooperation document with the US Chamber (USCC) and US-ASEAN, and we also have a long-standing relationship with USINDO," Bakrie pointed out.
President Prabowo and President Trump have arranged to authorize the mutual agreement, incorporating stipulations regarding tariffs, at their forthcoming bilateral session in Washington, D.C.
