Samsung Eyes India-led Product Development Under of New Vision

imgSamsung, the renowned South Korean electronics conglomerate known for its robust foothold in the Indian consumer technology market garnered over the past thirty years, announced its plan to further invest in manufacturing under the Make in India initiative and bolster product development led by India over the next ten years.

The corporation revealed a novel campaign, #PoweringInnovationforIndia, emphasizing its confidence in India's native talent pool and its increasing significance in Samsung's worldwide innovation network.

This endeavor, according to the company, will prioritize innovation centered on individuals, enhanced research capabilities, and a broader range of products crafted specifically for the Indian market.

By commemorating three decades of activity in India, Samsung's recent vision underscores its dedication as an enduring ally in India's technological advancement, local manufacturing initiatives under the Make-in-India campaign, and economy stimulated by innovation.

Samsung, with a reported revenue of Rs 1.11 trillion in India, operates two manufacturing facilities in Noida and Chennai, along with three research and development hubs in Delhi, Noida, and Bengaluru.

India serves as a key strategic market for Samsung, particularly amid increased competition among global electronics firms for supply chain stability and exploring new avenues for growth away from China.

 

JB Park, the President and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, expressed the company's commitment to taking on a more significant role in India's initiatives towards digital transformation.

“We will continue to work closely with the Government of India for a Viksit Bharat, creating a digitally empowered nation where innovation fuels inclusive progress and co-prosperity,” he says. “Our vision is clear: to build advanced technologies here that will shape how the world lives, works, and connects tomorrow.”

The business has enhanced its brick-and-mortar footprint in key urban areas of India. In addition to its renowned Samsung Opera House in Bengaluru, known as the largest mobile experiential center globally, the organization has unveiled its inaugural flagship lifestyle store, Samsung BKC, in Mumbai. Moreover, Samsung has introduced a new Business Experience Studio in the city, providing hands-on showcases of its consumer and business technology solutions.

A comparable studio was previously established in Gurugram by the company. Samsung is increasing its investment in India at a time when international electronics companies are looking to enhance domestic manufacturing capabilities, employ highly skilled engineers, and gain a stronger foothold in the rapidly growing Indian smartphone market.
