Samsung, Gas Safety Agency Team Up to Protect Chip Operations

Samsung Electronics and Korea Gas Safety Corp. have consented to enhance safety measures at semiconductor facilities in Korea and abroad, aiming to avoid gas-related incidents and ensure production stability as the nation's chip sector grows.
The two groups signed a memorandum of understanding at Samsung's Pyeongtaek campus, aiming to enhance gas safety infrastructure at facilities identified as nationally essential semiconductor sites.
The agreement requires enhanced technical collaboration to ensure the stability of newly constructed facilities, which includes inspections of pipeline integrity and confirmation that gas installations adhere to safety standards.
Through the collaboration, the entities will perform routine assessments of infrastructures and pipelines at newly established locations, offer training to cultivate skilled safety staff, and exchange technical data regarding gas safety.
They aim to collaboratively pinpoint regulatory barriers impacting semiconductor activities and investigate methods to enhance applicable regulations.
Another crucial aspect entails performing collaborative special inspections of gas facilities at Samsung's local and international operations, broadening cooperation outside Korea as the company grows its worldwide manufacturing presence.

The newest overhaul emphasizes enhancing individualized customer support. Samsung has introduced two additional choices to its "Blue Pass" service, offering professional assistance from product installation through to after-sales support. Considering the growth of the service, Samsung announced plans to broaden subscription options according to customers' life stages, product-management requirements, and financial situations.
The firm pointed to the swift development of the local subscription market as a crucial reason for the expansion. Samsung reports that 94.8 percent of South Korean consumers utilized subscription services this year, with individuals averaging 5.5 subscriptions and a monthly expenditure of 41,853 won on these services.
