Pulkit Trivedi has been named the managing director of India by Snap Inc, the parent firm of the messaging app Snapchat, as it steps up its efforts to monetize its services in the nation.

As per the firm, Trivedi would be in charge of overseeing Snap's operations in India, including generating revenue, assisting partners, and fostering the creator ecosystem. The growth, market development, partnerships, content, and creative ecosystem teams will now report directly to Trivedi under a new organizational structure. This is the first managing director that Snap Inc. has hired solely for India.

“This new, highly localized structure reinforces Snap’s commitment to India to further build unique experiences for the company’s growing user community,” it added.

The organization's restructuring in India coincides with the company's efforts to spur growth by assembling a local sales team under Trivedi's leadership.

Ajit Mohan, the president of Snap's Asia Pacific region, had stated in May that the business was seeking to employ a senior executive in India for the first time. Japan, China, Australia, and Snap's regional base in Singapore all boast senior professionals in a variety of fields, including sales and product development, across the Asia Pacific area.

Trivedi previously worked at Google as the director of Google Pay for the India business team, where he was in charge of developing business strategies, forming significant alliances, and driving Google Pay's monetization strategy in India. Additionally, Pulkit has experience working for major tech firms, including Meta, Microsoft, and Intel.
