Snowflake Announces $300 Million Investment in Saudi Arabia

Snowflake, an AI Data Cloud firm, has revealed plans for a forecasted $300 million (SR1.125 billion) investment in Saudi Arabia by 2030, collaborating with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT).
Focusing on a cloud-first approach to promote digital transformation and enhancing local skills, Snowflake and MCIT will collaborate on the One Million Minds initiative to provide data and AI training for as many as 25,000 learners. A key emphasis of the partnership will be to enhance the skills of up to 25,000 individuals over the next five years in essential data and AI competencies for the future.

Offered in collaboration with MCIT, the career-oriented program will integrate online and face-to-face training on the Snowflake platform. Participants will acquire hands-on data and AI skills through Snowflake University, receive certifications, and create real-world data and AI projects, while benefiting from networking and mentorship options provided by the Saudi Arabia Data and AI Community.
The initiative will introduce Snowflake Academia to the Middle East for the first time, assisting universities in incorporating modern data and AI technologies into their courses and aiding Saudi Arabia in building a technology workforce prepared for the future.
Alongside Snowflake’s Google Cloud Dammam region, the company is set to introduce two more cloud regions in Saudi Arabia in the latter half of 2026; delivering a genuine multi-cloud experience, providing customers enhanced options to select the cloud setting that best suits their business, data residency, and sovereignty needs.
The declaration arrives as Saudi Arabia keeps speeding up the integration of artificial intelligence throughout its economy. The General Authority for Statistics reported a 20 percent annual rise in AI adoption among Saudi companies in 2025, heightening the demand for secure and governed access to corporate data.

Snowflake's investment will cater to local customer needs, and it has formally declared the establishment of its regional headquarters (RHQ) for the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa (META) in Saudi Arabia. Founded in 2024, the RHQ will persist in expanding its local workforce, cultivating the regional partner network, and enhancing overall operations in Saudi Arabia.
MCIT will aid in Snowflake’s growth in Saudi Arabia by linking and creating opportunities with local organizations, facilitating networking, and expanding operations.
“Saudi Arabia has made data, AI and human capital development central to its economic transformation, creating a strong environment for long-term technology investment,” said Michel Nader, Regional Vice President (RVP) for the Middle East, Turkey & Africa, at Snowflake. “Our projected $300 million investment reflects Snowflake’s confidence in Saudi Arabia and its digital future. Through our global mission to help every enterprise achieve its full potential through data and AI, we intend to contribute meaningfully to Vision 2030 and support the next phase of the nation’s technology ecosystem.”
