Megan Clark Cook has been hired by Thompson Spencer as a Managing Partner. Her duties include coordinating the agency's skills in the areas of performance, media, and creativity and fostering growth in both new and current client relationships.

Thompson Spencer now unifies seven specialized businesses and an internal production suite under a single brand after the firm merged with Reason earlier this year.

The business claims that this places it among New Zealand's biggest independent agencies.

As a master of opportunity and integration, Clark Cook will be essential in fostering expansion in both new and current client relationships and coordinating the combined strength of Thomson Spencer's enlarged product line. Thompson Spencer is now one of the biggest independent agencies in New Zealand after a historic merger with Reason earlier this year that brought together seven specialized businesses and an internal production suite under a single brand.

“Megan is an outstanding leader, with the rare ability to blend entrepreneurial drive with big-network expertise,” says Melanie Spencer, co-CEO of Thompson Spencer. “As well as proving her ability to build businesses from scratch, she’s driven growth for some of the world’s most iconic brands. Bringing her on board as Managing Partner is a huge win for us, and most importantly, for our clients.

She will help harness and direct the incredible opportunities now possible with Thompson Spencer’s ever-growing expertise.”

Clark Cook is a proven candidate for the position. Before selling to WPP, she founded Copper Brand Experiences, the first experiential agency in New Zealand, and led the way in developing the sector, making it the most prestigious in the nation. She later held Managing Partner positions at Wunderman Thompson and Ogilvy, where she bolstered relationships with Coca-Cola, Ford, Samsung, and The University of Auckland while also speeding growth.

In addition to her work with clients, Clark Cook has long been a well-respected voice in the communications sector. She has chaired several industry councils, served on the Executive Board of the Comms Council, and judged at the Cannes Lions, Spikes Asia, and Effies, Axis, and Pressies in Aotearoa.

“It’s an incredibly exciting time to be joining Thompson Spencer,” says Clark Cook. “The agency has grown into a true independent and integrated powerhouse, with a staggering amount of deep, specialist expertise. What has me the most fired up is the opportunity to help the team unlock the full potential of that integration for our clients, delivering unstoppable impact.”

With a growing team of experts all under one roof, and Clark Cook now helping to write the pitch-perfect business score, Thompson Spencer is setting a very high bar for how independent agencies can deliver scale, integration, and results.
