To Lam Cites Mineral, High-Tech Ties With Australian Firms

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and President To Lam met with leaders of Australian enterprises, and emphasized opportunities to enhance collaboration in strategic mineral supply chains, high technology, and innovation as the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries advances into a new phase.

During a meeting with Craig Bradshaw, CEO of EQ Resources Limited, the Vietnamese leader expressed strong appreciation for the company's significant collaboration with Vietnamese partners in tungsten.

He noted that strategic minerals are becoming a global development challenge, as the green transition and digital transformation, along with the rise of high-tech industries, are increasing worldwide demand for these minerals.

He stated that the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Australia is creating new prospects for both nations to establish strategic supply chains, with vital minerals presenting considerable possibilities for collaboration.

Bradshaw shared his views on Vietnam's accomplishments in socio-economic development in recent years, while also praising the nation's potential and strategic directions in its new development phase.

He emphasized Vietnam’s mineral resources and expressed his desire to further increase investment in the Southeast Asian nation in the near future.

 

The Vietnamese official stated that Advanced Navigation's navigation and positioning technologies align perfectly with Vietnam's key areas of collaboration with Australia. Vietnam is open and prepared to establish conducive conditions for collaboration between the company and Vietnamese partners, aimed at fostering technology transfer, transforming research outcomes into tangible products and applications, and progressively integrating into global supply chains for the mutual advantage of both nations.

Turnbull expressed confidence in the robust growth of Australia-Vietnam relations and confirmed Advanced Navigation’s ambition to broaden its activities in Vietnam, stating that the firm aims to be a dependable, long-term, and impactful partner with the nation.

The Vietnamese leader appreciated Turnbull's opinions and suggestions, emphasizing that science, technology, and innovation will be key pillars as the Vietnam-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership moves into a new phase. He wished for Turnbull to maintain support for Vietnam's science and technology advancement, while presenting proposals, initiatives, and business strategies in sectors where Australia possesses strengths and expertise.
