Top Leader Urges Better Technical Services for National Security

Party General Secretary and State President To Lam urged the technical services team of the Ministry of Public Security to transform into a highly disciplined, loyal, and citizen-centered group of leading science and technology specialists equipped to tackle increasingly complex security issues.
The senior leader expressed these comments during a meeting with officials from the Department of Technical Services within the Ministry of Public Security, emphasizing that the nation's experience in protecting national security and preserving social order highlights the critical significance of technical services.

With swift shifts in the regional and global security environment presenting both opportunities and challenges, he stated that the force needs to modernize its abilities to guarantee prompt detection, efficient prevention, and timely responses in every circumstance.
He requested tighter collaboration with other units while hastening the implementation of AI and big data to enhance crime detection, law enforcement, and national security efforts.
He stated that technical operations ought to become a "steel barrier" and an "intellectual foundation" of the People's Public Security Force, aiding in the protection of Viet Nam's advancements in science and technology, innovation, and national digital transformation. He emphasized the importance of actively preventing hostile entities and criminals from using technological advancements to jeopardize national security and called for the enhancement of technical capacities in emerging areas to tackle new security threats.

He emphasized the importance of a disciplined, loyal, and customer-focused technical services team while developing leading professionals in science and technology. He stated that operational technical duties in the modern age demand strategic vision, technological independence, self-sufficiency in human capital, and autonomous combat abilities, emphasizing that attaining these objectives relies primarily on individuals, with human resources being the key factor.

To reach these aims, he instructed the establishment of a team of officers who are devoted, knowledgeable in the law, professionally skilled, adept in science and technology, and fluent in foreign languages, while also giving proper consideration to personnel policies.
The chief leader also recognized the force's contributions throughout its 72-year history, emphasizing that technical services have become increasingly vital not just in significant investigations but also in safeguarding national sovereignty, territorial boundaries, and cyberspace through sophisticated technical measures.

Conveying his belief in the force's prospects, he stated that by maintaining its honorable legacy and promoting accountability, creativity, and a trailblazing ethos, the People's Public Security Force overall and the technical services division specifically would persist in effectively accomplishing the responsibilities assigned by the Party, the State, and the citizens.
