Viet Nam to Train 10,000 CEOs for Private Sector Development

The VYEA organized VPSF 2025 from July to September as a nationwide forum where government officials and business leaders could talk policy and take action together. This happened under the guidance of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Viet Nam Youth Federation, working alongside the Viet Nam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises.
At a press conference, Dang Hong Anh, who chairs the VYEA and leads VPSF 2025, explained that they're putting together a comprehensive summary report filled with recommendations straight from private businesses. They plan to hand this report over to the Government and other relevant groups to help shape new policies and improve existing ones.

Dang Hong Anh also mentioned that the VYEA isn't just collecting suggestions - they're setting up a system to keep track of how well government departments actually listen to and act on what businesses are telling them.

He said the association plans to team up with various ministries, agencies, and local governments to make sure companies' concerns don't just get heard but actually lead to real changes.
The summary report tackles important topics like institutional frameworks, innovation, how Vietnam fits into the global economy, and how companies should be run.
One of the most exciting ideas they're proposing is a training program for 10,000 CEOs that would help create a fresh wave of Vietnamese business leaders who have clear vision, strong ethics, and the skills needed for long-term success.
Looking ahead, the VYEA wants to create an online feedback system that lets business leaders communicate directly and openly with government officials in real time. They also plan to host regular meetings to check how well their policy suggestions are being put into action. This shows how serious the organization is about making sure the forum actually leads to real changes in policy that help businesses grow and get rid of obstacles they face.
To make the forum's ideas happen in practice, the association has officially launched a program to train 10,000 CEOs between 2025 and 2030. They'll roll this out in three stages. First, there's a trial run in the final three months of this year where they'll train the first 1,000 CEOs. Then comes the big push from 2027 to 2029 to train another 7,000 business leaders. Finally, by 2030, they'll wrap up the full 10,000 CEO goal and spread the program's benefits across the whole country.

The training focuses on eight key leadership skills that cover everything from business planning and managing money to handling staff, running operations, dealing with risks, using technology, driving innovation, and connecting with international markets.
The people running this program say that building stronger leadership skills is essential for making Vietnamese companies more competitive and reaching the country's goal of turning the private sector into a world-class economic powerhouse by 2045.
This isn't just about training though - it's also designed to be a place where business leaders can find mentors and build networks. Each seasoned entrepreneur will take two newcomers under their wing, creating an environment where people learn from each other, make connections, and help each other succeed in the business world.
