Officials from the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Communist Party of China have reached an agreement to enhance theoretical exchanges and share experiences in Party development, research, and practical evaluations, which will promote closer cooperation between the CPV and CPC in this new era.
While on a working visit to China, Nguyen Xuan Thang, a member of the 13th Party Central Committee's Political Bureau and Chairman of the Central Theory Council, met with Li Shulei, a Politburo member and Secretary of the CPC Central Committee’s Secretariat. They engaged in in-depth discussions on theoretical research, practical reviews, and Party building, agreeing to enhance cooperation and the exchange of experiences between the two Parties.

He emphasized the strategic significance of Vietnam-China relations in Vietnam's foreign policy, along with the importance of theoretical exchanges between the ruling parties of both nations. He stated that after the General Secretary of the CPV Central Committee and President To Lam’s state visit to China in April, the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership has further advanced, becoming more profound and meaningful.
Thang suggested that Li keep guiding the relevant Chinese agencies and localities to exchange information regarding General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and President of China Xi Jinping’s ideology, China’s 15th five-year plan, and its development objectives for 2035 and 2049. He additionally urged active collaboration in organizing the 21st theoretical seminar between both Parties, and enhancing theoretical discussions on ideological efforts in the new context.
Li praised Vietnam's significant accomplishments achieved under the CPV's leadership, highlighting the commonalities in the ideological principles and leadership objectives of both Parties, which create advantageous conditions for more in-depth theoretical research and practical collaborations.
The Chinese official suggested that both parties concentrate on key matters like the shift to socialism, advancement of new productive forces, and ecological civilization, while enhancing theoretical discussions and exchanges. He mentioned that Chinese agencies will actively provide documents and materials to aid the CPV’s review process.
Previously, Thang engaged in discussions with Xie Chuntao, a member of the CPC Central Committee and Vice President of the CPC Central Committee Party School.

Xie stated that the CPC places significant emphasis on examining its history and has released three key resolutions regarding Party development in 1945, 1981, and 2021. The examination of its century-long history intends to not only reflect on the Party’s growth but also to determine development patterns and extract historical insights for the future, he highlighted.
The Vietnamese delegation conducted working sessions with representatives from the Institute of Party History and Literature of the CPC Central Committee and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, sharing experiences in performing major reviews and translating those findings into arguments for policymaking and national development strategies.
