Vietnamese Party Chief Concludes State Visit to DPRK

To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee, along with a senior Vietnamese delegation, returned to Ha Noi early on October 11 morning, having successfully completed their official visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and participation in the 80th anniversary celebration of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) founding from October 9-11. The visit took place following an invitation from Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the WPK and President of the State Affairs of the DPRK.

Throughout the visit, the highest-ranking officials from Viet Nam and the DPRK engaged in discussions. Within a candid, amicable and transparent environment, both leaders shared perspectives regarding their respective nations' circumstances, the bilateral relationship between Viet Nam and the DPRK, and regional and international matters of shared interest.

Both leaders reflected upon and voiced their gratitude for the enduring friendship between their respective Parties and nations, which was originally established by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kim Il Sung and has been nurtured, passed down and advanced by successive generations of leadership from both countries, along with the genuine and devoted mutual support provided during challenging revolutionary periods. They conveyed satisfaction regarding the ongoing strengthening and development of relations between their Parties and nations.

Both parties committed to expanding delegation exchanges across various levels through Party, State, Government, National Assembly, and local collaborative channels to improve knowledge sharing, strengthen political confidence and mutual comprehension; effectively sustain dialogue and cooperative frameworks, explore potential collaboration opportunities in suitable areas; advance citizen-to-citizen interactions, and reinforce bilateral friendship.

General Secretary Lam expressed his desire for both nations to broaden collaboration in promising sectors including culture, sports, tourism, education, healthcare, information technology, and communications, while also creating television and radio content that showcases Vietnam, North Korea, and their respective cultures and citizens.

 

Upon receiving and endorsing General Secretary To Lam's collaborative suggestions, General Secretary and President Kim Jong Un confirmed that North Korea seeks close partnership with Vietnam in party development and nation-building activities, demonstrating readiness to advance cooperation across various suitable domains.

Both leaders examined regional and global circumstances and reached consensus on enhancing collaboration, providing mutual support, and coordinating efforts within international organizations like the United Nations and ASEAN Regional Forum.

This diplomatic visit represented a significant achievement that helped strengthen the effectiveness of bilateral partnership between both political parties and nations, fulfilling the hopes and desires of citizens from both countries while simultaneously promoting peace, stability, cooperation, and progress regionally and globally.
