Ang Wee Keong as the Chief Executive of the Maritime and Port Authority 

Ang Wee Keong has been appointed as the Chief Executive of the Maritime and Port Authority (MPA). In this position, Ang has played a crucial role in promoting Singapore’s digital initiatives and enhancing its thought leadership on the global stage. He has also bolstered Singapore’s network of partnerships within the digital economy

In his capacity as the Chief Executive of the MPA, Teo has made substantial contributions to the development of Singapore’s International Maritime Centre and the PIER71TM startup ecosystem. Throughout his time in office, the Port of Singapore achieved new records in vessel arrivals, container throughput, bunker sales, and registrations within the Singapore Registry of Ships. These achievements occurred despite a challenging global operational landscape characterized by geopolitical tensions, supply chain disruptions, and technological changes impacting the movement of goods and supplies worldwide. 

Agoda has brought on board Paolo Inga as its new Chief Organization & People Officer

Agoda has appointed Paolo Inga as its new Chief Organization & People Officer, a position in which he will steer the company’s worldwide strategy for talent, culture, and organizational development. He will concentrate on enhancing Agoda’s people practices while the company expands its footprint in various markets. In this new capacity, Paolo to oversee the digital travel firm's initiatives in organization design, leadership training, and talent development as Agoda broadens its reach globally. His base of operations will be in Bangkok.

Paolo comes with over 20 years of global HR expertise. Prior to his role at Agoda, he served as Global HR Director at YOOX NET-A-PORTER GROUP, where he managed HR functions throughout Europe and Asia. While there, he played a pivotal role in unifying teams post-merger, initiating leadership development programs, and enhancing digital HR systems in the company’s luxury and fashion divisions.

Henkel has appointed Kingley Lim as APAC Head of Culture, DEI, CSR and Talent Head

Henkel has named Kingley Lim as the Head of Culture, DEI, CSR, and Talent for Southeast Asia and ANZ in the APAC region, underlining its commitment to purpose-driven growth, inclusive leadership, and the development of regional talent. 

In this broadened leadership position, Lim guides Henkel’s people and culture initiatives throughout the Asia-Pacific area, specifically focusing on Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. His role encompasses cultural transformation, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), corporate social responsibility (CSR), and talent strategy, ensuring alignment between workforce priorities and the goals of business growth and sustainability.

Longchamp appoints Thierry Kun as Head of HRBP Asia Pacific

Longchamp, an international fashion retail brand, has appointed Thierry Kun as the Head of Human Resources Business Partner for the Asia Pacific region. 

Kun has more than twenty years of strategic leadership experience in both the government and private sectors. He will be responsible for overseeing talent development and company culture, assisting market HR teams with their challenges, working closely with the global team in France on strategic HR initiatives, and improving employee engagement, onboarding processes, and learning programs to enhance organizational effectiveness. Prior to this role, Kun was the Global Director of Talent Acquisition at Rosewood Hotel Group, where he led efforts in recruiting top talent and developed and implemented the Employee Value Proposition, Employer Brand, and Vendor management strategies.

SuperX appoints Dr. Chenhong Huang as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

SuperX AI Technology, a prominent provider of AI infrastructure solutions, has announced the appointment of Dr. Chenhong Huang as Chairman of the Board, Executive Director, and Chief Executive Officer.

In this new position, Dr. Huang brings extensive leadership experience from the telecommunications and technology industries. Recently, he was the Global Executive Vice President and President for Greater China at SAP SE. Sanofi Names Sherryl Goce Head of People Services

 Sanofi, a prominent pharmaceutical company, has promoted Sherryl Goce to the position of Head of People Services in charge of Southeast Asia, India, South Korea, and Australia, with immediate effect.    Goce has been working with Sanofi for over six years and recently served as the People Services Partner for South East Asia & India and Head of the Hyderabad Hub.    In her capacity as the Hub Head, she has been supervising the employee lifecycle, payroll, and benefits departments in various countries such as Greater Gulf, South Africa, Turkey, Lebanon, and Jordan. Additionally, she also acts as the main point of contact for People and Culture (HR) services for South East Asia and India.   

SharkNinja names Carol Xu as Chief People Officer for APAC

 SharkNinja has appointed Carol Xu, an experienced HR leader, as its new Chief People Officer for Asia Pacific. This move aims to enhance the company's leadership team during a period of rapid expansion in the region.   Xu, who shared the news on LinkedIn, is joining the consumer technology firm at a time when it is broadening its product range through innovation and improving its human resource strategy to facilitate continuous growth.

In her role, Xu is responsible for overseeing the regional human resource strategy, organizational development, and initiatives to foster a positive company culture that aligns with SharkNinja's vision of creating an exceptional workplace environment.   Her key areas of focus will include enhancing the workforce's skills, strengthening leadership development programs, and ensuring that HR initiatives are in sync with SharkNinja's expansion across Asia Pacific.

OMG Malaysia Appoints Winnie Chen-Head as CEO

Winnie Chen-Head has been appointed as the new CEO of Malaysia for Omnicom Media Group. She takes over from Eileen Ooi, who moved to the position of CEO at PHD Asia-Pacific last year. Chen-Head comes to OMG from dentsu Malaysia, where she was the Managing Director of Media and managed various agency brands.

Having a career of more than twenty years, she has held leadership roles in different industries such as e-commerce, aviation, telecommunications, and software.   She is known for developing impactful strategies that benefit clients and help organizations grow. Her appointment coincides with a successful period for OMG Malaysia, with the company reportedly having its most successful year yet.

Dubai's Jupiter Wealth Names Akshay Mathur as CEO of Singapore

Jupiter Wealth, a financial consulting company headquartered in Dubai, has chosen Akshay Mathur to be the Chief Executive Officer of its Singapore branch, starting right away.   Mathur, who holds a wealth of experience in leadership, has held key positions at Citi, Deutsche Bank, and Kotak Bank throughout his thirty-year career.   

Mathur has a strong academic background, having obtained qualifications as a Chartered Accountant and Cost Accountant from ICAI and ICWAI, as well as a bachelor's degree in commerce from the University of Delhi in India.

 

Google Korea Names Yoon Koo as Managing Director

Google Korea has selected Yoon Koo, also known as Brandon Yoon, to lead as the new managing director of the country.   Yoon is a well-experienced technology leader with a history of over two decades in the field.

Assuming the role on January 5, Yoon will oversee the advertising sales activities for Google Korea. The appointment was disclosed by Yonhap News Agency. Yoon brings with him more than 20 years of expertise in the information technology and digital transformation spheres in South Korea and the United States. He has previously held top-tier management positions at Microsoft Inc., Samsung Electronics Co., and Apple Korea.
