Leadership is the fuel that powers the global business world. While sound leadership is essential for ensuring business continuity and success, yet there is no single mantra for becoming a successful business leader.

Leadership is unique to each individual. While some might believe in servant leadership, others might transactional leadership. Each individual’s personality and experiences govern the type of leader they choose to become and the leadership values they uphold. There is something to be learnt from every leader in the global business world, as every individual brings their unique flare to the table.

For Jennifer Patton, Director Global Sourcing, Coppel Corporation, leadership is all about creating a healthy working environment for all. In a candid conversation with CEOInsights Asia, the experienced business leader
explains, “I believe in fostering a healthy and effective working environment that prioritizes both performance and employee well-being. Although I am an extremely result-oriented person, I also value flexibility in how those results are achieved. As long as the team delivers on its objectives, I’m a firm believer in creating a happy and supportive workplace that allows individuals to thrive both personally and professionally.”

In another conversation we hear from Patric Lau, the Deputy General Manager of Business Development at Funderstone Securities Holdings. He is a staunch believer in being a hands-on leader. In an interview with team CEOInsights he says, “I would advise aspiring leaders to remain curious, cultivate independent thinking, and prioritize integrity in all decisions. Effective leadership requires actively listening to your team, embracing change, and balancing data-driven insights with core values. True leaders inspire trust, address challenges thoughtfully, and foster the growth of those around them. Leadership is not merely about directing others; it is about guiding with purpose, supporting development, and creating an environment where teams can thrive while achieving shared goals.”

While their perspectives and focus areas might be different, yet their focus remains on achieving business success and employee wellbeing. To know more about Patric’s and Jennifer’s leadership insights read the current edition of CEOInsights Asia magazine.
