Dubai Chambers, Indian Ambassador Talk to Bolster Trade Ties

Dubai Chambers recently convened a meeting with Dr. Deepak Mittal, the Ambassador of India to the UAE, to explore opportunities for enhancing bilateral relations and promoting trade and investment collaboration between Dubai and India.
At the meeting, Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, and Dr. Deepak, discussed ways to strengthen connections between the business sectors in both regions and enhance collaboration in critical areas, particularly within the digital economy.

The conversations underscored the increasing significance of financial technology (fintech) in influencing improved and inventive financial structures, as well as in facilitating advanced digital payment platforms.
The gathering focused on exploring strategies to enhance business connectivity, foster collaboration within the private sector, and facilitate the growth of commercial relationships.
Lootah states, “Dubai and India have built a dynamic economic partnership that continues to evolve in line with shared ambitions and growing business engagement”.
“In a rapidly changing global environment, close cooperation with public and private sector stakeholders is essential to bolster confidence, sustain commercial activity, and support deeper collaboration. We remain committed to deepening engagement with India and helping to unlock new opportunities for the business communities in both markets”.

Additionally, it emphasized the significance of maintaining close coordination and leveraging the solid groundwork of the bilateral economic partnership in light of changing global dynamics.
India continues to be a significant economic ally for Dubai, with Indian companies persisting as the predominant foreign business community in the emirate. The presence of Dubai Chambers in India underscores the market's importance within its global network, with Dubai International Chamber managing two representative offices in Mumbai and Bengaluru to enhance collaboration and facilitate the growth of trade and investment connections.

In April of the previous year, Dubai Chambers entered into an agreement with the Confederation of Indian Industry to enhance trade and investment ties between Dubai and India, as well as to promote mutual economic development.
The agreement laid out a structure for collaboration in various important sectors, with Dubai Chambers providing assistance to Indian businesses in setting up and growing their operations in the emirate by offering strategic services that facilitate investment.
