Indonesia, Russia Deepen Ties in Cordial Prabowo-Putin Meeting

A warm and cordial atmosphere characterized the meeting between Prabowo Subianto and Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin in Moscow. Putin began his address by conveying his gratitude for Prabowo's trip to Moscow. Prabowo expressed appreciation for the gracious welcome he received, despite the demands on Putin's time.
In light of Your Excellency's demanding agenda, I am grateful that you made time to meet with me," expressed Prabowo. During the meeting, the two leaders engaged in a comprehensive discussion on a variety of strategic matters and examined possibilities to strengthen cooperation between their respective countries in various fields.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated on the official Instagram account of the Cabinet Secretariat that there was mutual agreement to enhance enduring collaboration in the energy and mineral resources field, particularly focusing on security and development in oil and gas downstream activities.
They have also concurred to enhance collaboration in fields like education, research, technology, agriculture, and investment, with a specific focus on bolstering Indonesia's industrial growth. After the meeting, the agenda proceeded with a brief private discussion over a lunch at the Kremlin's Blue Hall.
The diplomatic relationship between Indonesia and Russia has endured for 76 years, dating back to their official establishment in 1950. Throughout this extensive period, both nations have cultivated a relationship founded on mutual esteem and common goals.
Wijaya observed Russia's significant global standing, highlighting its role as a veto-holding member of the UN Security Council and a founding member of BRICS. Furthermore, Russia is recognized as a major global player due to its abundant natural resources. He stated that President Prabowo and President Putin convened in Moscow last December and have held five meetings on different occasions throughout the previous year.
The Indonesian President, Prabowo Subianto, and the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, have reached an agreement to strengthen their bilateral ties, focusing on areas such as economics, energy, space, agriculture, industry, and pharmaceuticals.

Prabowo conveyed his gratitude towards the Russian government for their unwavering support towards Indonesia during a meeting in Moscow.
