Indonesia, UK Chambers of Commerce Bolster Bilateral Trade Ties

President Prabowo Subianto has collaborated with Indonesia's Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) as well as the British Chamber of Commerce (BritCham) to enhance and strengthen the trade and business relations between the two nations.

“The commitment will be followed up with concrete steps between the business communities of both nations, represented by Kadin Indonesia and BritCham,” says Chairperson of Kadin Indonesia Anindya Bakrie, who accompanied the president during his visit to London.

Bakrie elaborated on the partnership between Kadin and BritCham, emphasizing their collaborative efforts in enhancing market accessibility, fostering investment prospects, and advancing industrial and technological growth.

He underscored the equal importance of BritCham in achieving the mutual goal of enhancing bilateral trade, as showcased during President Prabowo's visit.

The president's itinerary involved holding discussions with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy, followed by an economic forum and a formal dinner at Lancaster House with the attendance of prominent business figures and government representatives from both nations.

Bakrie highlighted the significance of President Prabowo's participation in the forum as a clear indication of Indonesia's firm dedication to enhancing economic and strategic partnerships with the UK.

 

Kadin Indonesia remains hopeful that the collaboration between the two countries will result in advantageous business agreements that will contribute to economic advancement, the generation of employment opportunities, and the enhancement of public welfare.

“Moreover, the same commitment is shared by the British counterpart,” he added.

During his visit to London, Kadin engaged in discussions with key partners such as UK Pension Funds and the Investment Exchange to investigate potential long-term investment prospects.
