He also used the meeting at the prime minister’s office to highlight his administration’s dedication to creating a more open, transparent, efficient, and stable environment for investment.

“Investing in Jakarta today means securing access to one of the largest markets in Southeast Asia. Investments streaming into Jakarta will contribute to Indonesia’s growth, strengthen ASEAN economies, and create added value to regional partners, Singapore included,” Pramono remarks.

Implementing supportive policies, he added, is crucial for fostering investor confidence.

“We want Singaporean business actors to know that Jakarta is committed to easing investment with clear regulations, efficient processes, and consistent policies. I believe that the trust and collaboration we are building today will result in mutual success,” he states.

The governor assured Singapore of Jakarta’s reliability, informing Wong that his extensive experience in governance and bureaucracy is crucial for fostering effective communication with Singapore and other strategic partners.

“My experience as cabinet secretary across two terms and presently as Jakarta governor enables me to bridge national policies, implementing them at the local level. This is important to provide investors with certainty and build their confidence,” he affirms.

The discussions in Singapore further strengthened personal and institutional connections between Pramono and Wong, enhancing relationships formed during their earlier positions in their national governments.
