Nvidia CEO Visits Seoul for Robotics, AI, Gaming Partnerships

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang traveled to Seoul, seven months after attracting attention with a fried chicken meeting alongside leaders of Samsung Electronics and Hyundai Motor Group, which was succeeded by a significant Nvidia AI accelerator distribution throughout Korea.
This visit will concentrate on building partnerships with a wider array of Korean companies in AI applications such as robotics, physical AI, infrastructure, and gaming. Besides his business commitments, Huang has a television appearance lined up and will throw a ceremonial first pitch at a baseball game, showcasing his celebrity-like fame in this area.

Huang reached Korea through the Seoul Gimpo Business Aviation Center at approximately 1:30 p.m., following his participation in COMPUTEX 2026 and GTC Taipei 2026, both held in Taiwan.
Huang stated he has delivered “plenty of business” and “a few surprises” for Korea. He mentioned that Nvidia has begun recruiting for its research and development (R&D) facility in Korea, stating that he is also evaluating the possibility of establishing “a site” for production.
He mentioned that the purpose of the visit is primarily to align Nvidia's supply chain, as the firm must synchronize the manufacturing of essential technologies, such as dynamic random-access memory and high-bandwidth memory, to facilitate the launch of its Grace Blackwell and Vera Rubin systems.
He stated that Korea is “a fantastic location” for investing in R&D centers due to its proficiency in AI, robotics, and manufacturing.
The meeting emphasizes the significance of Korea's "PC bang" and esports culture in Nvidia's development over the last twenty years. A PC bang is an internet café where customers are charged hourly to play games, a fundamental element in Korea's emergence as a global esports leader and a significant market for graphics processing units.

Following the visit, Huang will have dinner with several leading business figures from Korea at Hyungnim Jeoyo, a laid-back pork belly barbecue venue close to Hongik University in western Seoul. Anticipated participants comprise SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo, and Naver Board Chairman Lee Hae-jin. Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Chung Euisun is reportedly contemplating attending the meeting.
The restaurant's name, which can be interpreted as "Hey big brother, come here," is viewed as embodying a symbolic message about reinforcing connections with Korean business associates.
On his prior trip to Seoul, Huang met with Chung and Samsung Electronics Executive Chairman Lee Jae-yong at Kkanbu Chicken, which roughly means "very close friends." At that moment, Huang mentioned that the location represented his bond with the two entrepreneurs.
