PM Urges Acceleration of Production, Distribution, Biofuel Usage

The Prime Minister has released Directive No. 07/CT-TTg regarding the expeditious promotion of manufacturing, mixing, circulation, and utilization of biofuels in Vietnam. The directive emphasizes that the current utilization of biofuels is still constrained and does not meet the established objectives.
In response to this directive, the Prime Minister has asked government officials at various levels to expeditiously integrate objectives aimed at increasing the use of biofuels into all relevant policies, projects, and legal frameworks slated for release in the near future.

They are tasked with evaluating the potential and efficiency of emerging sectors and areas connected with the advancement, manufacturing, and use of biofuels, while concurrently expediting the execution of initiatives, projects, and trial programs linked to biofuels, with a special focus on transportation, manufacturing, and agriculture.
The Directive also emphasizes the need for increased communication initiatives aimed at enhancing public and business understanding of the importance, value, and various benefits of biofuels in terms of the economy, society, and environment.
It also stresses the importance of enhanced collaboration and sharing of information among relevant departments to facilitate the advancement of biofuel technologies.

The Prime Minister has assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade the responsibility of leading efforts, in collaboration with various ministries, sectors, and regions, to develop a comprehensive strategy for implementing the biofuel blending ratios with traditional fuels.
This includes ensuring a consistent supply of bio-petrol to meet the needs of the domestic market, promoting investments by businesses in infrastructure that supports biofuel production and consumption, monitoring compliance with regulations, and fostering the growth of domestic biofuel production to achieve eventual self-sufficiency in the supply of E100 fuel.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade must diligently oversee both domestic and international markets, analyze and predict trends in biofuel supply and demand, and ensure a consistent and timely response to consumption requirements.
Additionally, they are responsible for creating contingency plans to mitigate risks for consumers and businesses in the event of market fluctuations.
