SP Mobility Expands EV Network with First Tengah Fast Charging Hub

SP Mobility, part of Singapore’s SP Group, has launched the country’s first electric vehicle fast charging hub at a Housing and Development Board carpark in Tengah, marking a major step in expanding public charging infrastructure in residential areas.
The new facility features eight direct current fast charging points with charging capacities of up to 100 kilowatts, alongside six alternating current charging points rated at 7.4 kilowatts each.
The hub is located at the HDB carpark serving residential Blocks 123 and 129 next to Plantation Plaza, Tengah’s first neighbourhood shopping mall.
The company said the launch forms part of a broader plan to strengthen EV charging accessibility across Singapore’s public housing estates.
Additional charging hubs will be progressively deployed from early 2027 in locations including Bedok North Avenue 3, Teck Whye Lane, Pipit Road in Macpherson, Jurong East Street 31, Tampines Street 34, Woodlands Street 13, Bukit Canberra, and Jurong West Sports Centres.

SP Mobility had earlier introduced Tengah’s first public EV chargers in February 2025 and intends to further expand charging infrastructure across upcoming Tengah precincts. The expansion plans include installing more direct current charging points in newly developed carparks where supporting power infrastructure is available.
Tengah, Singapore’s first smart and sustainable town, has seen steady residential growth. As of December last year, more than 14,000 flats had been completed, while over 12,000 homeowners had collected their keys, reflecting growing demand for convenient and accessible EV charging facilities within public housing communities.

The rollout supports Singapore’s broader push towards cleaner transportation and increased electric vehicle adoption, particularly among residents living in high-density housing estates.

By integrating fast charging infrastructure directly within neighbourhood carparks, SP Mobility aims to improve convenience for drivers, reduce charging wait times, and encourage more motorists to transition from conventional internal combustion engine vehicles across the country.
