Sun Ye, an expert in overseas capital markets and cross-border M&A, has joined Jia Yuan Law Offices as a senior partner. He will divide his time between the firm’s branches in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong.
Adding the former O’Melveny partner underscores Jia Yuan’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its team by actively recruiting senior partners with prestigious international law firm backgrounds. This move follows the firm’s recruitment of former A&O Shearman partners Wanda Woo and Daisy Qi in October 2024, further solidifying its international presence and expertise.
Sun, who was admitted in New York, has advised issuers and underwriters in completing Hong Kong IPOs and is particularly skilled in providing US legal advice to clients in industries such as healthcare, TMT, artificial intelligence and digital retail.
During the past decade, Sun has worked in the Beijing outfits of international law firms, including Skadden, Morrison Foerster and Simpson Thacher.
